Specsavers is searching for an eCommerce Operations Manager

Are you a problem solver and do you thrive when being operationally in charge of eCommerce sales and customer service?

If so, you could be Specsavers new eCommerce Operations Manager with the responsibility of making sure our online glasses business gets off to a smooth start and continues to meet the expectations and needs of customers in our Northern European region (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the Netherlands).

What youll do
The eCommerce Operations Manager will oversee and make sure that the online glasses business gets off to a good start and continues to be running smoothly with efficient service that accommodates customer needs. You will be second line support, dealing with areas such as customer care, supply chain, logistics, payment issues, delivery, range, and stock. It is required of you to provide resolutions to operational problems whilst adhering to Specsavers corporate guidelines.

In this role as eCommerce Operations Manager, your most important job tasks will be to:

  • Efficiently and effectively run the eCommerce website, including tools, processes, and procedures as well as optimisation of these
  • Deliver second line support for e.g. customer call centre to ensure issues are resolved and a seamless and positive customer experience is delivered
  • Supervise the eCommerce site and processes to identify issues and improvements where necessary
  • Monitor fraud, chargebacks, refused payments etc. and ensure these issues are resolved and necessary changes implemented
  • Develop the delivery proposition (express delivery, customer leadtimes, delivery pricing, packaging etc) in order to improve customer experience and conversions
  • Be the key partner for cross-functional teams including customer care, supply chain, logistics, product, retail operations and eCommerce IT, to collaborate on delivering the most optimal customer experience for online glasses

Who you are
We are looking for someone with great operational experience in eCommerce with the ability to solve problems. Since this role is completely new with direct reporting to the Head of eCommerce Development, it is important that you possess a can-do attitude and see yourself as a self-starter. You will be dealing with customer service and engage in multiple stakeholder relationships, so we see it as a plus to have acquired good communication and negotiation skills in previous work environments. To accommodate the above, you must, to a large extent, meet the following professional and personal qualifications:

  • Experience in eCommerce merchandising best practice, with an understanding of consumer behaviour as well as system knowledge (ERP, CMS, etc.)
  • Experience in stock management and financial procedures
  • Understanding of eCommerce fulfilment process and how to achieve cost effective business solutions
  • Personal interest and passion for customer service and significant experience in servicing customer queries in an online environment
  • Innovative and quick to propose new ideas or ways of working
  • A true team player and happy to work with others as well as on your own
  • Likes to be challenged and deliver to tight deadlines
